A little bit about me
Hey there! I’m Ashley, author of Single Mama Thrive and single mama to one beautiful baby girl. I’m a runner, yogi, teacher, and dreamer. Lover of willow trees, wine, the beach, and deep conversation. Not so fond of close talkers, cold weather, or barking dogs.
When I was nine weeks pregnant, after seeking fertility treatment with my husband, he left me. He left with nothing more than “I don’t feel like we’re a team” on the same day I first witnessed my future daughter moving on a sonogram screen.
As you can imagine, the next few years were an absolute roller coaster of every imaginable emotion. But most often I faced anxiety, wondering, how can I do this? How can I single parent? How can I start a new life? How can I trust again? A never-ending barrage of questions. Until slowly I realized, I can do this. I can do this and it will be the best damn thing to ever happen to me. And so now I’m here – not only wanting to share my story, but to provide inspiration and community for single parents. Single parenting is hard. Real hard. Regardless of how you get here. But no matter what you face, if you believe you can get through it and be better for it – DAMN it, you can do it!
